The bodies of the mayor of a small town in the interior of Brazil and his wife were found slain in the cottage where they lived, officials said.

Sousa was from January 2012 mayor Matrinchá - a town of 4,000 inhabitants some 260 kilometers from Goiania, capital of Goias state, in the center of the country and ultimately faced charges of embezzling public money.
the bodies were found in the house located about 10 kilometers of Matrinchá and had stab wounds on their necks, Commissioner Paulo Tavares, Civil Police, who was in charge of the investigation reported.
